Thank you so much for posting this eloquent and heartfelt message from Dr. Vivek Murthy. The Triad of Fulfillment is incredibly poignant, especially in these highly trying times. My gratitude is his for his willingness to share "The Parting Prescription for America"

Loneliness is a destabilizing force for bad. I have seen many choose poorly only because of their fear of loneliness. Loneliness contributes to increased substance use and mental illness. Knowing we are not alone and having positive people in our lives is and important part of living fully.

It is time to remember how powerful community truly is - and how much can change when we feel there is a space to connect with peers and dream together.

Love does not simply feel toward one another; it moves us toward responsibility for one another (insert one does not simply walk into Mordor meme here lol).

On a serious note, social media didn’t just disconnect us, it trained us to substitute visibility for commitment and expression for obligation. We can speak endlessly and still remain alone. Loneliness persists when no one is willing to stand in the gap, to endure friction, to risk being uncomfortable for the sake of another human being.

This is why love must be disciplined.

Mother Teresa named loneliness as the deepest poverty. The antidote is not more content, more awareness, or more language. It is people who are willing to belong to something that asks something of them.

Loved this article and thank you for it.

My Beloved Community connects and embraces differences in opinion as two sides of coin. Resistance to alienating those that walk among us no matter how that is to do. Most of us have more in common when we delve deep.
